Red & Reckless
Red and Reckless is a Alt-Rock band from Chicago, fronted by singer, songwriter Esh (e-shh) The Singer. Gaining the majority of her industry experience by writing and touring with various artists, Esh began her career as a powerful background vocalist. In 2009, Esh struck out on her own, forming her own ace backup band consisting of Terence Lee (bass, producer, music director), Nick Jaffe (guitar, producer, vocals), and Myron Cherry (drums); all who have worked with famous performers such as Common, Estelle, Dwele, Ice Cube, Syleena Johnson, and many others. Red and Reckless released their debut EP, “You Should Know Me”, in the summer of 2012. The EP is an all-out hard rock effort, that echos the likes of late 70’s/early 80’s heavy metal/punk/new wave icons. “Her very presence on area rock stages has shaken notions of what a black woman can do in the subgenre, dominated by white men.”- Cole Waterman (Examiner.com, December, 2012). Esh won over the Midwest’s hearts and ears after appearing on Milwaukee’s Fox 6, American Idol in 2010. “Her music has all the flair of the ’80s; some of the grunge of the ’90s; and a brash and contemporary attitude that seems custom-made for the post-Idol musical landscape.”- Billy Hyer (A.V. CLUB Milwaukee, May, 2010).
In 2013, Esh sets the tone for her band with her 2 hour acoustic tour around the Midwest. "My goal was to gain a solid fan base with my acoustic performances and play a huge Festival in 2013 and Summer Fest was that Festival!" I understand that variety makes music lovers comfortable; , me more likable and my bands jobs a lot easier." A 2013 nominee for the WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) female vocalist of the year and named "The Newaukeean" of the week. Red and Reckless prepares to release a highly anticipated full-length album in 2014.
LIFEAFTERSIX is a music project started by Eric Hill in 2000. Eric has been playing music in and around Chicago for more than 20 years. He plays several instruments and is a gifted producer for up and coming singer/songwriters. Primarily a guitarist, he also plays drums, keyboards and bass and does his recording almost exclusively at his home studio. Joining him is Megan Thomas, one of the most sought after drummers/percussionists in the Chicagoland area. Known for her professionalism and versatility, as well as her hard hitting style, she fits in perfectly with Eric in this band. After extensive rehearsals, LIFEAFTERSIX performed their first show at Liar’s Club to a very positive response. Their heavy, detailed sound was compared to Soundgarden and Metallica, which shows they are breaking new ground for a two-piece band.
